Thats why on ebay you can get lens cap fix.
Did she drop it off a bridge ?

:D :D :D Apparently it disappeared from her handbag. I'm too scared to go near it to look to be honest.

Hiya all,

As a frequent visitor to the UK I have been lurking on this thread for a while and enjoying it. You bunch do get around, so now I am wondering if you can give me a few suggestions.

I follow my favourite band around Europe as oft as I can, which means mostly Devon or London. And while I'm there I add a few weeks every year of getting my walking boots and camera out, travelling the width and breadth of the UK. I've been doing this for the past 16 years and I need some ideas which places to see.

I am travelling by train & bus, I like both the busy town/city (mostly London of course) and the lonely walks in the countryside/National Parks. For May this year I'll be in the Exeter area for a week and have about 2 more weeks to fill. Perhaps anywhere south of the Liverpool/Leeds line (Yorkshire Dales or North York Moors could be ok, but I don't know whether buses there run just once a day on market day).

Below is a rough list of places/areas I've been to. If nothing else comes up I'll probably revisit a couple of those.

Many thanks for reading my longwinded explanations and looking forward to your suggestions.

Frank

I can only find cheap replacements, was trying to see how much an OEM one was first before resorting to those. I'm pretty sure the OEM one will be extortionate though.

Hows this then (external link)

Evening all. How are you? Ive not been on for a while as Ive been ridiculously busy at work. Major project that has been cocked up by another, and Ive had to correct it.

Anyway,

Nice snow shots Clare, i guess the new camera is working well for you.

Dom, I like the first, but the dirt/Pigeon Poo doesn't help the second.

What everyone doing about the London shoot? I cant remember the date and i think i might be fishing that weekend. I'm definitely taking the camera this time. I missed out on a very take Robin last time. I was gutted.

That's the lens hood, not the actual lens cap. This is what the cap looks like, it's just a metal slip-on cover really:

Well I never, I tried the Fuji store and never saw it. This does say X10 lens cap but it just doesn't look like one.

Thanks, £15 sounds ok to me :)

Thanks, Anke. - I'll look into that, maybe combine it with the northern Exmoor area if I can find a place that isn't overrun.

Just a quick run by

I see Bridport...........but what about West Bay and walk over Golden Cap to Ypres in one direction and the other way to....darn, I cannot recall the names???

Not big towns but what about Lacock, Sherborne, Lyme Regis to name a few???

Scilly Isles
Brownsea Island near Bournemouth

Many places can get very tourist full but Tavistock has heritage interest and not forgetting in the heart of Dartmoor Princetown and Widdecombe in the Moor..........but you did say you had been to Dartmoor so maybe these are old news ;)

Oh, mention of South Wales this may not be your cup of tea and to be frank I have never been but at Bryn Mawr in the valleys you I understand can go down one of the last deep mines to stop production as it is now a heritage "museum".

HTH :D

PS what band is it that you follow???

That was a great meal ~ you must have a good set of pans :p

If you are travelling through devon by train definitely stop off in Exeter. Beautiful City ( its more of a large town really) with the cathedral etc.

Thanks! My mention of Bridport in my mind included West Bay; went about half way to Golden Cap. Approaching the same area from the west (Lyme Regis) definitely an idea.

Scilly Isles: bit far out for now
Brownsea Island: thought it was off limits for the public, not sure though. I remember taking the ferry to Swanage.

Tavistock is the one place near Dartmoor I was disappointed in *shrug*. Post Bridge was the nearest I got to Princetown. Okehampton is super too.

South Wales is another option to pop over from Bristol, which Anke mentioned. I'll keep that on the cards.

The band is Mike Westbrook's, varying from Duo to Big Band. Got 100+ of their albums/recordings
