Bah. Camera decided to fry my sd card, so photos from this morning and past couple of days are gone (will try and recover the card). Been up to Applecross for lunch and over to loch torridon this afternoon. Absolutely fantastic views, the kind that photos don't do justice to. Am now downloading photos on a daily basis.

Skye tomorrow.

Ouch....looking forward to the shots you do have when you get a chance to go through them

Better than what's going on in Turkey at the mo eh. One of my friends lives on the square where it's all happening and her fb updates are pretty scary - they are basically stuck in their flat wearing gasmasks when it all kicks off.


Thanks for the nice comments, it was really exciting esp after sitting there for three hours! he's been feeding the badgers for a couple of months now, always in the same place - so it was pretty likely she was going to appear. There are two cubs (he also has a night vision camera he leaves there) but they've only appeared in darkness so far.

I wonder if that will work both ways, would it allow a supplier to stop a client changing their minds and using it as an excuse to try to wheedle out of paying?

That could be the same for photographers as well, no reason why we would not be covered by the act as we are offering a service

Indeed, photographers were mentioned in the quote above. The rules, I imagine, are to protect consumers against unscrupulous traders but I don't see why the same rules shouldn't be applied to tricky clients as well.

If consultations were video-taped it would probably be more fair if both parties had copies of the tapes, given how accessible editing software is these days.

How many times have we seen conversations, even in here, along the lines of ...

Client: "You didn't supply the photographs I wanted. I'm not paying!"
Photographer: "But you didn't ask for X, you said you wanted Y.

But is it going to get people too used to using video as leverage against others, rather like young people are getting used to being ID and regarding older people who don't have / want any with suspicion.

Hope you saw my previous post on a place to visit after you visit Sky - if not, look up Connon - not that far from Loch Duich, then look for Arnisdale. The drive along there is fabulous.

Glad you drove along the top of Loch Torridon - my fav view in Scotland on a blue sky day

I did thank you Linda. Going off to see Eileen Donan tomorrow, so will get to follow your example. Took a trip to Skye today, but the weather was bad. Still, saw some wonderful views. Its been a taste for future trips for sure!
