Thank you, Linda for pointing me in this direction. We had good weather, and the scenery on that drive over the hills was just incredible. Easily the best scenic drive yet!

We weren't really expecting the Tea Hut to literally be a shed/lean-to, but Sheena was such a dear old character. It was probably the worst cup of coffee I've ever had at a coffee shop (except for Starbucks, which is always awful), but the experience is the best I've had by far. Sheena is getting elderly now, she was talking about packing it in. I think she'll do it for as long as she can walk from the house to the shed.

We started off with a walk along the loch to loch carron weavers. Then went to Dornie for a coffee (and met a wonderful old couple who talked to us, and generally talked over each other in doing so), went to the castle, and then to Corran for our coffee. Managed to have good weather for much of the day.

Off to the loch inver/cape wrath area at the weekend, and then a couple of days on Mull (staying in tobermory).

Looks like your having a good holiday Pete. If your on Mull, if you go to the west coast you can go on a boat and see the sea eagles fishing. Web site

Morning all. Last day in Norfolk today, and it's the best weather we've had all week typically! Had a nice afternoon yesterday at an RSPB reserve, the light wasn't great but got a few nice shots, this one probably my fave.

Saw loads of lapwings, more little egrets, marsh harriers, grey heron. Still after the elusive Bittern though after hearing it so close the other day!

Random question: my better half wants to do a "beginner's course" on SLR photography. I recently got her a 100D, and she wants to learn how to use it properly*. There are loads of courses advertised online, but was wondering if anyone here knows of a course in London that will definitely be good/worth the money?

* don't think she thinks I'm a good teacher

Bah. Camera decided to fry my sd card, so photos from this morning and past couple of days are gone (will try and recover the card). Been up to Applecross for lunch and over to loch torridon this afternoon. Absolutely fantastic views, the kind that photos don't do justice to. Am now downloading photos on a daily basis.

Skye tomorrow.

That's a bummer, Pete. Why on earth would camera do that? Dodgy card maybe?

wow they are super little creatures! 3 hours for 10 shots. Worth it though she disappeared after a scrap with a pheasant

I sell to book printers and the one thing has really annoyed is that manuals are only ever pdf and I do like to have a book I can thumb through and have open when trying a process ~ must be age thing

Having said that I would actually be pleasantly surprised if it does indeed have a full? printed manual in the box???
