Not fair - WAY too many great shots lately to comment on, Pen: outstanding barn owl in flight shot. adrian5127: young one in amongst the digitalis is stunning. bridge99: again - too many to choose a favourite although the 'look back' is pretty much up there. All these as well as outrageously good puffin shots - actually exhausted just trying to think of words to use for praise.

Gratuitous flower posting (also posted in 5D & lens section - only because I'm personally THAT impressed with the set up)

Cory and I popped along to RHS Wisley on Saturday - apart from being hotter than Hades it was surprising quiet. Great excuse to try out the 5D mkIII hand held with the 100mm macro IS - verdict. . . . . . LOVING IT

I genuinely am seriously impressed with this body, I did very little PP to the raw files and struggled to pick a few to post up. Gallery is HERE (external link) if you want to check the rest out.

Comments and critique are as always welcome, thank you for looking.

Rich, I cannot believe you will be short of things to point it at, Richmond Park for one, shame I cannot make it out would be nice to have a little go, saying that I do like the 500mm having tried a couple now.

Talking of 500mm

Couple more Kestrels

Very different :D

I bet she was cursing you when it went all sticky and hard (I typed that last bit and was tempted to remove it but thought I'd leave it in on the basis that we are all grown ups and won't find it at all amusing)

Whilst clearing some very old emails I came across this one and it still makes me laugh ~ or at least the contents do, pasted below for a Friday afternoon chuckle to share :D Whether actually true or not they bring a smile!

After every flight Qantas pilots fill out a form, called a

"gripesheet," which tells mechanics about problems with the

Aircraft. The mechanics correct the problems, document their

Repairs on the form, and then pilots review the gripe sheets before

The next flight. Never let it be said that ground crews lack a

Sense of humor. Here are some actual maintenance complaints

Submitted by Qantas' pilots (marked with a P) and the solutions recorded

(marked with an S) by maintenance engineers.
P: Left inside main tire almost needs replacement

S: Almost replaced left inside main tire.

P: Test flight OK, except auto-land very rough.

S: Auto-land not installed on this aircraft.

P: Something loose in cockpit.

S: Something tightened in cockpit

P: Dead bugs on windshield.

S: Live bugs on back-order.

P: Autopilot in altitude-hold mode produces a 200 feet per minute

Descent.

S: Cannot reproduce problem on ground.

P: Evidence of leak on right main landing gear.

S: Evidence removed.

P: DME volume unbelievably loud.

S: DME volume set to more believable level.

P: Friction locks cause throttle levers to stick.

S: That's what friction locks are for.

P: IFF inoperative in OFF mode

S: IFF always inoperative in OFF mode.

P: Suspected crack in windshield.

S: Suspect you're right.

P: Number 3 engine missing.

S: Engine found on right wing after brief search.

P: Aircraft handles funny. (I love this one!)

S: Aircraft warned to: straighten up, fly right, and be serious.

P: Target radar hums.

S: Reprogrammed target radar with lyrics.

P: Mouse in cockpit.

S: Cat installed.

And the best one for last...............

P: Noise coming from under instrument panel. Sounds like a midget

Pounding on something with a hammer.

S: Took hammer away from midget.

:D :D :D :D :D :D
