I think I will get LR guys, just gotta save some money up, hard times at the moment. We've made a huge jump with our business and now are going at it alone! Scary stuff....

Is LR much different to Photoshop in terms of layout, tools etc? I'm heading out tomorrow on walks, etc so will shoot in RAW and download the trial tomorrow. Should be fun!

You'll pick it up in no time, there aren't many sliders you need to adjust in the Develop Module (all this will make sense when you open it).

Good tutorials are abound and it looks like enough of us here use it so just ask

A cheaper option might be LR4, it obviously does not have some of the bells n whistles of 5 (it only has spot healing and not a healing brush and a few others) but the basic development module is about the same

If you look through the web material you'll soon see if 5 gives you any benefits over 4 (4 will not get any updates though)

Yes. I sold mine over POTN at Easter and the best I got offered was £500. A steal for the person who offered it, but selling via a store would have netted me £450.

For some reason, even though I've only used it once, I'm having second thoughts. Why one earth would I do that? It's not as if I'm ever going to use it

If I had the money spare I would take it Chris, I love my 100mm.

Not been here for a while due to divorce and other stuff going on (walking Snowdon and work etc.....)

18 months

damm you job!

I had to get Light room after everyone been raving on about it. It looks like my kind of program but i think a few YouTube tutorials will be watched. Heres an edit of a shot from the War and Peace revival.

Thanks. Yes, the Sea King was on the way to one of the rescue points along the Llanberis path. The day we went was the day of the annual Snowdon race and I guess one of the runners had a fall bad enough to need air lifting back down .
We saw several guys and girls in a pretty bad way with cuts and bruises from falls but they were still running. One guy (who was in about 20th place) fell right in front of us and split the back of his head open!!!! he was up in seconds and tried to carry on but the marshals at the next medical post just wrestled him to the ground and made him stop! The amount of blood he was loosing meant he would have been dead before he made the finish (I was walking with a Dr and a nurse BTW).
The winner did the race in a time of 1h, 10m which is gob smacking if you have walked it at all. That's up AND down BTW!!!

Will add a few more when I get time.

On the LR front, I can highly recommend Scott Kelby's book on Lightroom. Takes some getting used to his wit but the info is all good and simple to follow.
