Love this, Mike. The imposing lighting on his back really makes it.

I agree Mike that's a fab shot, really atmospheric.

I had a beautiful dog here today for photos. I donated the shoot to a local animal charity for their recent auction, and George came today - he survived horrendous cruelty back in 2011, he had an untreated broken leg, and also had been tethered by a rope round his neck, he had grown, and the rope had not, and it had grown into his neck. I've seen horrific photos of the poor lad. Luckily this great rescue took him on and fixed his problems, amputated his badly broken leg - and found him a wonderful home with the people I met today. A real happy ending.

Personally I'm not 'overly fond' of dogs BUT stories like this and then the beautiful shots you have taken warm me to them a little more.

I wont say on a public forum what I would like to do to those people - but lets say it wouldn't bode well for them

.DAVID.

Oh and in case you missed it - absolutely stunning photo's as usual

What a lovely endearing dog...............such 'soul' in those eyes. It is wonderfull he was saved and now has loving & caring family to look after him.

I echo David, super images & I also echo what he said about those that inflict such cruelty on any creature.

On more mundane matters...............stitches out tomorrow, really would like my hand X rayed as though no bones broken I am not sure what sort of damage I did. I will have to see what the practice nurse says about it but the movement in the finger has been affected??? :(

Krakow for a couple of days for work. Quite a contrast to freezing January, with temps of 35-37C. VERY crowded. But still pretty.

We went down to Henstridge in Somerset to see this, circa 1990/1991, which makes me about 7 in that photo.

Unsure who the afro guy is ;)

Thanks for the comments too... I'll dig some more out :)

Quick question.. Does anyone here have a 60D?

I need/want a newer high MP camera. I've got 50D cash at the moment but for a bit more the 60D is looking good.

Just want to know what the AF is like, fast, slow etc?

TIA!

Another quick question: I'm looking to start building up a small portable lighting kit. I've used some stuff before but never owned. Looking at a basic stand to use with my Speedlite, then umbrella+swivel. Any suggestions for where to get stuff in London, without breaking the bank? I know Manfrotto does this type of gear - is it worth the extra dosh?

TIA!
