Another quick question: I'm looking to start building up a small portable lighting kit. I've used some stuff before but never owned. Looking at a basic stand to use with my Speedlite, then umbrella+swivel. Any suggestions for where to get stuff in London, without breaking the bank? I know Manfrotto does this type of gear - is it worth the extra dosh?

TIA!

If your looking for cheap try Amazon or ebay I've picked my stands up for around £10 on the former and speedlite softboxes etc off both for around the £40 mark depending on size if you want to keep costs down it's a good way to go.

We went down to Henstridge in Somerset to see this, circa 1990/1991, which makes me about 7 in that photo.

Unsure who the afro guy is ;)

Thanks for the comments too... I'll dig some more out :)

Edit, my mistake. It was 6th Jan '96 and it was at Stapleford Aerodrome, Epping area.

On more mundane matters...............stitches out tomorrow, really would like my hand X rayed as though no bones broken I am not sure what sort of damage I did. I will have to see what the practice nurse says about it but the movement in the finger has been affected??? :(

Uh oh, not the shutter finger too I hope :(

Krakow for a couple of days for work. Quite a contrast to freezing January, with temps of 35-37C. VERY crowded. But still pretty.

fingers crossed things will work out next week, and I'm upgrading gear, I should have for sale a 5D2 and a 1D3...open to offers...
You've all seen what they do, so not going to drone on about spec etc. anyone interested?

(FYI I'm most likely getting a 1DX, 5D3 and 300 F/2.8 II)

Oh....yes, RH index finger! I do not do things by halves  They decided I did not warrant having it X rayed and though there was some thinking as she called one of the GP's in as she thought there was (still) an infection in it saying maybe I should have another course of Anti-biotics???

But left me with "just look after it" and see how it goes.....well it has only been just over a week so plenty of time for the remaining swelling to subside and then see whether there is any long term effects on its movement???

A&E was such a mare of a wait if I need it looked at again I will try the nearest "Walk In Centre" but lets not be negative ~ time will tell ???
