These shots were taken almost at the lens' MFD. But it was not an ideal situation because there were a lot of haze from the wildfires that morning, so I had to shoot at a high ISO. Most of the pics I had to do a lot of noise reduction, and also some selective sharpening.

#5 This is a shot where I tried to shoot at ISO 800 and the photo was very dark, so I had to do some additional pp to recover this photo.

These are beautiful shots. What lens were you using, and how far away from the subject were you?

Thanks for sharing.

Thanks so much for the nice comments. All shots were taken with the 7D and canon ef 400mm f/5.6. The lens MFD is 3.1m and most of the shots were at 3.5m. The closest was at 3.39m :)

I am so envious! You say high ISO and had to do noise reduction-one shot had to boost exposure-and still they're sharp and noiseless. Amazing. I stand in awe. Extremely well done!
