I have some of my best gallery shots here. Interestingly enough, these were taken with my G2 Powershot, you don't want to know how I got the wasp shots...

I just picked up a Rebel XT, so I should be able to really knock off some nice shots now!

It was tough. I had to pick one of the plants that they like to hover over, get a focus lock (since the G2 had no manual focus), then note the distance from the plant, keep the button halfway down, and wait for the wasps to hover over that area. Then get the camera about the same distance I was before but a tiny distance back, and finish snapping the shot. I went through several. I believe I also was using a +4 macro filter with a filter tube and was only about 3 inches away from them each time. They get a bit upset...

I also got a great lightning shot with my G2 but it took about 45 minutes to get it. I probably went through about 50 15 sec. exposures to get one or two good ones.

some kind of Digger Wasp I presume - they are nice shots; at first I thought they should be cropped more closely but then I kind of liked the suburban background - like one of those documentaries about wildlife doing their thing around us unnoticed.

Thank you for the feedback, I am just getting into the whole composition of the shot thing. I liked the view on 2 of the 3 because of the clarity of the flower and wasp, and the very blurry background, with nothing really centered on the photo. My favorite in that gallery is my daughter's eye with the reflection of the lens.

Excellent shots, reminded me with some of my Wasp Air Forces shots.
I think I'll have to start searching my archive ..

Thanks for sharing all those beautiful shots. A good effort using the G2
