Folks, I wanted to try and create a post on how important it is to establish an emotional connection with people when you photograph them:

Great reminder and I totally agree.
To take people shots, you need to bond a trust relationship with your model, they will be relaxed and will show their real expressions.
I as well avoid taking pictures on first meetings but if I have no choice, I chat with them for the first 10-20 minutes while setting up.
