I picked up a good deal on a Speedotron 4803 pack and head and I'm contemplating how I'm going to trigger it. I have a set of Yongnuo 603 triggers and I'm thinking I should be able to connect the trigger with a PC to household cable and be good to go. My concerns are sync voltage and sync speed. I really have no idea if either are an issue but, just wondering.

Sync speed shouldnt be a problem, if the batteries are fresh should be able to get max sync on the 5DII. I dont know about voltage, at worst you only fry one transceiver trying it.

I've used RF602's with old Novatron packs without issue. The 603's should be the same.

Update! I was pretty excited to see my sync cable in the mail today. I had visions of all the great shooting I was about to do with my new light setup. Well, cut to...FAIL!

I don't know how the PC jacks are attached in the RF-603's but they both broke while trying to plug in the sync cord. The center portion just collapsed down into the body of the triggers. So, PC jack is NOT an option with the RF-603's as far as I can tell. Pretty sure it is just there for looks and they really didn't expect someone to actually try to use it.

The triggers still seem to function ok otherwise. I just ordered a hotshoe to household sync cord. Maybe I'll have better luck with that.
