This is one of my first attempts at a B&W conversion. I included the "Before" picture. Does the whiter tree look out of place? What can I do to improve this picture?

I think there is a little more in the picture than you have managed to achieve with the b&w version. Hope it inspires you to try again!

Not sure about the conversion. What was the process you used? It is interesting but more in an abstract way I think. I like Graham's conversion, very nice.

Graham's conversion is nice. The original B&W looks way too soft.

yes increase the contrast and sharpen them and then you have a fine shot
