Maybe it's a lens, maybe it's an accessory or even a piece of software. Maybe it's a piece of junk, or maybe it was so good you immediately upgraded it.

Perhaps it has a bit of regretful stigma due to the price you paid.

I know some people will just sell unused gear so maybe yo don't really hold on to things, but I was wondering what gear people kept around particular but didnt use AS much.

Mine would he my teleconverter 1.4. I bought it for my 70-200f4l, and while it's fine, I found I just didn't need to add 80mm all that much.

Canon 85 f/1.8. I've had it for years and only used it twice... Yet I can't force myself to sell it.

My macro lens (putting it up for sale soon) and perhaps my Ultrapod II.

I do have other stuff I don't use (5-in-1 reflector, gels, etc) but that's because I haven't been proactive on my shooting. I figure they will get used once I get into the swing of things so I'll stick to my original answer above ;)

Well dang I don't feel that bad about my macro lens, now. I know I've used it more than twice, hahaha!

My 50mm 1.8 prime lens. I just...have no use for it. I bought it for indoor & low light, but I find that the 50 is not wide enough. I don't like the prime lens to begin with. I know they're supposed to be "good" for beginners like me, but I never use it. I hate switching lenses and I like the versatility of my *gasp* kit lenses.

It takes great photos though...

I definitely find it not wide enough, especially indoors like you say. I still break it out every now and then.

That's the idea and that's why a lot of people like primes.

A gimbal mount. then a lensbaby them etc,etc etc. SOS hey those UV filters make good coasters if not for their fragility.

I use my Spyder3Elite quite rarely, about once every few months. Then again, it's not one of those often used pieces of gear.

If we're talking lenses, it's my fifty nifty. Never really liked that thing.

My 550D (and my crop lenses) sit around a lot because of my 5D Mark II, but I use them to shoot video as a second camera.

50 1.8. It's to cheap to not have one. But it almost never sees actual use.
