I've been using Apple's iDisk to share pictures with our advertisement agency. That option went away last month and I'm looking for a replacement. What are you guys using to share large TIFF and JPEG files?

I've got a need to send about 1GB-3GB compressed folders of images to my agency about once a month. Does Adobe's new Revel offer the ability to share full size images? I'm looking for an option that won't break the bank but also something that's reliable and someone that won't throttle my bandwidth due to file sizes.

TIA,
Jason

I know Dropbox and Google Drive have paid options that should be able to support what you need. Amazon also has some cloud hosting stuff as well, but I am not as familiar with their consumer solutions.

Even the free version of dropbox would work for that if you're not stacking the folders in there. I regularly use it to send folders of images to clients (most are around or a little under 1gb, but I just delete it after they've got their copy.

Drop box, I can send you a referral and we both get an extra .25 gb's of storage. They give you 2 gb's free of storage but i've gotten up to 8.5gb's! They have a new program where when you plug in your camera to your computer dropbox asks if you want to upload to the folder and they will give you free space. I just uploaded a bunch of video files and got 4gb's of storage for free. I highly Recommend it. PM me if you want the referral for the free space.

I have a free account from Box that I like: https://www.box.com/ (external link) They had a promotion awhile back where you got 50GB of free file storage (no expiration) for signing up.

Box gives you lots of free storage, but you have to pay for their application giving the ability to sync to your desktop. The others, like Dropbox, give much less file storage for free but they also provide the ability to sync files for free.

The inability to sync files isn't a big issue for me.

Dropbox is probably the greatest thing ever created. I think I have around 10GB free because I constantly use it to send proofs to clients. Makes life easier.

I use dropbox for 99% of my delivery and USB for the other 1%.
I stop burning CD's because my burner died when I had a large number of deliveries to make so I made the switch. Of course now I'm stuck with these spindles of disk and envelopes. :-(

I'm maxed out the the free GBs that dropbox gives out which is 32GB. I've occasionally bought a monthly subscription if I needed to delver more that I had space for so I pay the $19 for the month and then go back to the free subscription.

not sure if this still counts: http://www.itnews.com.au …sinesses-off-dropbox.aspx (external link)

If it does, I would be very carefull about using dropbox for anything.

something that says "click" and some strange white tubes with glass in it..

Ah, that update to the T&C doesn't bother me so much. It seems like this is the key phrase: "to the extent reasonably necessary for the service"

Still, doesn't Dropbox require the recipient to sign in to receive the files?

I don't think you have to sign in or install the DB client anymore. You now get a url is the way I understand it.
