Is there a way to keep the info display on like when you press the info button all the time? The one that shows shutter speed, aperture, etc on the LCD itself.

I don't know why you'd want to do that - it will cut your battery life by a huge amount.

If you feel the need to look at it, just hit the "info" button and it's there. But I see no reason to leave in illuminated all the time - makes no sense to me and I'd expect your battery (or batteries) to last less than half as long - maybe much less than half. ???

Peace,
D.

Wow, what a nice picture! You must have a really great camera!

It doesn't affect the battery life very much, I know this for a fact. Does anyone know where to actually go to change it?

^it affects it very much, but it doesn't matter if you are just taking pictures as a hobby. It's not like you are working an event and need to shoot continuously for 4 hours.

Are you asking if it can be left on and never turn off or display these results during preview display? If all the time then no the 40D cannot do this but if during preview display when you get the desired display stop pressing info and it will always display this view for you.But as for battery life i found that if i had preview display set i would get 800 photos from a battery but with preview display disabled i get 1300 shots, so yes it eats your battery having the lcd coming on all the time.

Your explanation isn't making quite enough sense to me (sorry!)...so if I stop pressing info it'll start showing up?

When you press info and get the desired screen that you want if you dont press info button again it will show this screen every time you preview a shot.

Yes playback or preview mode. Are you wanting the lcd to stay on all the time? If so page 125 in the manual.
