Are female photographers getting popular easier than males?

So gender is relevant ... at least for the purposes of boasting. Very well. In the name of the lofty goal of equality, the accomplishments of males in the field of photography (from the development of equipment and techniques to the production of images) since 'round about 1826 are grounds for boasting.

We probably don't really want to venture down that path.

I honestly don't think it matters whether you are a man or woman, in the end it comes down to whether or not you can connect with your client and make them feel comfortable, and assuming you can they then tell others and you're fine. For the record I am a man.

Generally is the woman in the family that will pay for art and pictures so women may feel more comfortable dealing with and buying photos from another woman just like women like to have a woman doctor regardless of being a gyno.

Oh my god, are you for real? Did you seriously just equate the unproven hypothesis that women prefer dealing with female photographers to the fact that women prefer a female doctor who is dealing with them in the most intimate way possible? Since you seem bizarrely unaware of this, there's a huge chasm of difference between dealing with a photographer, and having someone's fingers in your vagina.

Honestly, some of the replies in this thread are ludicrous, and stink of insecurity. But then I guess that always happens when you have women entering a male-dominated environment.

Thankfully some of you do have your heads screwed on straight. Let's focus on photos, not gender.
