Hi, wonder if anyone can help...

I've received a 40D as a birthday gift with a kit lens & cables etc. but no CD-ROM.
The Canon site allows you to download the software updates but not the full software and I can't find anything downloadable on the web. I'd like to avoid paying 25GBP on a 30D/40D CD-ROM pack I found advertised on eBay...

Any ideas?

Many thanks in advance,
Jon

I did a forum search for "DPP download" and came up with a number of potentially helpful threads. Here are a couple of the links:

Thanks for looking, but both links point to the .exe file for the PC. I'm after the Mac OS X version (sorry, should've said...)

Do you know anyone with some type of Canon digital camera? It can be a dslr, or point and shoot. Borrow their cd to get you started.

You can also email Canon and let them know your situation and they should send you a cd pack. I somehow lost mine in between changing computers and emailed them and they sent me one no charge. Yeah, the only thing you can d/l from Canon is the update, and you need to have the original installed already.

All good for now... My Mac's 'ImageCapture' connects immediately to the camera via the USB cable once the app's opened.
