Took these shots of the sunset last Sunday - looked like something from Independence Day - the weather had been glorious here - and quite mild for this time of the year...

Really striking!

Was there any particular reason for isolating the sky so completely in #1?

It's almost the same in #2 - as great as the sky is, I always feel more comfortable when there's at least 30% of the picture devoted to mother earth.

I guess if there was a good reason to exclude terra firma due to graffiti, clutter, or distractions, it would be understandable.

Thanks Guys for your comments - yes the reason for isolating ....mmmm.... blame the wife - she took those!!!! Was trying to capture the cloud formation - also parked in a very awkward spot near a bend!!!!
