Instead of a long drawn out post I figured I would just post an image of the look I am trying to create.

What is the best way to set my image up to print? I have Aperture and Photoshop at my disposal and I assume Photoshop would be the better tool. So, in Photoshop, what is the best way to divide my image into 3 equal parts for printing? Thanks!

Just make 3 crops of the original image, then make a new document.

I need the 3 images to line up exactly so the crops can not have any over lap. Will this technique allow that kind of preciscion? I feel like if I am manually making 3 crops there is room for error. I will give this a try and see what happens. Thanks for the response.

Turn on the ruler (ctrl-shift-R), click and drag from the ruler to the desired spot in your image to create a guide line, then snap your crop box to the guide.

Or better yet, make one image, print it big, then cut it which is what most likly happened here. It's way simpler.

Just remove each section at a time. Impossible to overlap. I agree with gjl, if you're not comfortable with the software, just cut a full size print. Most likely the print will have to be trimmed of a border anyway.

One other thing. depending on the picture you use, you may have to remove the two spacing strips, like your sample. Otherwise it may look like 3 sections of a picture spread out instead of the "looking through a window" effect.

Sorry to rain on the parade, but I'm quite sure that posting a screen shot of another photog's work violates POTN rules -- you are instead instructed to post a link to the shot!

Image has been removed and link as been added. I thought clealry sourcing the image would have sufficed. My bad.
