I hate putting the ebay link in because I know someday it will be bad but it is the only reference I have. 22" beauty dish with 30 degree grid from ebay seller Studio-98. Looks like they sell a version with a speedlight bracket so I'm expecting someone here has used one.

Anyway, I'm looking for a beauty dish and grid on the cheap but I don't want a one time use deal either. It would be used outdoors almost exclusively. Would like to hear others experiences with it.

Really?? Nobody has this thing? I'm seriously thinking about getting it and trying it out with the Speedotron pack/head I have on the way. Hopefully 4800w/s won't melt it!

Only reason I'm hesitant to go with the Fotodiox is that the grid is 50*. That is too wide. The grid on the Studio-98 is 30*. That is a lot more practical for my purposes.

Let us know if the grid is indeed 30* - on the Studio-98 BD when you receive it

I bought that dish 1 month or so ago.
Have made several tests, looking good so far.
The honeycomb is 30° and the dish comes with 3 white socks.

While you're at it, take also the carrying case for the extra 20-ish bucks. The dish and grid are fitting in.

I've bought quite some stuff from this vendor (Studio-98) and I'm very happy with the quality, shipping times and packaging.

However, I didn't bought the speedlight adapter because of its L shape wich doesn't allow tilting the dish enough to the bottom.
I've bought a T shapped adapter from another vendor located in Montreal

Francois,
Great to hear you are pleased with the BD. Did you purchase the silver or white finish?
Looks like it's certainly worth the price - and the carrying case too.

Check out Speedotron directly. I believe they sell a 22" beauty dish for less than this guy wants on eBay

Ugh. Sorry to hear that.

Well, I guess I'm just going to bite the bullet and order one. I haven't found another deal as good as this (for as complete a kit as what Studio-98 is offering, anyway).

Fedex says they have found the package and expect that I should get it tomorrow. I am skeptical though since nothing has updated on their tracking system. If I ever get it and the packaging is not so damaged that I have to refuse delivery, I will let you guys know all about it. Really hoping to be able to use it this saturday.
