I have two computers, MAC OSX. First is at my home office, second is in my studio 10 miles away.

Situation: After session I dump pictures to both computers, They are mirrors, same folders, same files everything is the same. So I'm dumping pictures to both computers in the same folders, same files everything the same:)

Let say i'm working at home, session wa 1000 pictures, I worked at home office, I started selection process. I use Starts and Lables to categorize and do selection process. next day I decided to go to my studio, now How to create TXT or CSV file that I can take to my studio and apply all changes, all stars labels metadata etc that I did at home last night ?

Any help ?? I was trying to find answer everywhere ! website seems like telling you what you can but not how to do stuff.

Can someone provide detailed step by step tutorial how to move all the information about stars and labels from one computer to another using LR Transporter ?

So, you are using Lightroom on both computers? I don't know what "LR Transporter. With Lightroom you can use the Save Metadata to File command, which creates an ".xmp" text file. If you copy your xmp file into the folder with the original image, you can do a "Read Metadata from File" at your other computer.

If you are not using Lightroom, you'd have to take another approach, so let us know!

Why do you think that using .xmp files is not suitable?

carshop I would strongly re3commend to ready posts before posting stupid answers....

Dunno .xmp file is just fine but exporting 3000 files is not the same what exporting 1 file... and Im using LR Transporter, I'm guessing you not familiar with the plugin....

I keep wondering why you say “Export”. One doesn’t export an xmp file; all one needs to do is copy it from the machine and paste it onto the other.

The only other process which will probably be as intensive as using LR/Transporter is actually saving your changes TO the xmp file (cmd-s) and importing said changing FROM the xmp file (Menu > Metadata > Read Metadata From File).

And as to your response to Carship, he has actually sent you to the website of the writer of the LR/Transporter software and the documentation on how to use it. If you can’t find the answer there, then maybe what you are seeking is not possible with LR/Transporter. Either way, I would suggest you owe the gentleman an apology. He was being helpful, and you, well, personally I think you have been very rude.

rypson -
Is there any reason why you don't simply export the recent changes as a catalog and then imort that catalog file into the master catalog on the second computer?

So, it sounds like you are set on using LR/Transporter, which obviously we here are not familiar with. As for DNG, well, you could move a DNG file from one computer to another, I believe and keep all your metadata in the file, but I'm not a DNG user, and together with the Transporter program, well, you may need to work this out with the Transporter people, 'cause it is not directly a Lightroom issue!

You sir, called my answer stupid, that is being a smart ass and rude.
Also your rudeness was noted by DunnoWhen.
Good luck with your search.
