It took a while but we finally made it over to the coast to see Thor's Well at Cape Perpetua (external link). When we left from the Vancouver area the weather was overcast but no rain was forecast. When we got to the coast (175 miles away) the fog was so thick that photography was difficult to say the least, and there would be no visible sunset. Ocean conditions were excellent for viewing the well.

At any rate - here's one of the best I was able to get. We will return later this year if summer ever arrives.

Thanks for the comments. It was one of those featureless days that make for long nights of post processing....

But a beautiful place in any weather.

It is certainly a wild and interesting section of the coast - especially in stormy weather.

It looks like this gray sky blending down to the ocean is one fitting attitude for the well. Nice.

We've certainly had plenty of practice opportunity with the grey sky. Perhaps it will be clear enough for a sunset shot next time.
