L-primes and F4 zoom combo's

I am thinking to get a collection of the best primes with some F4 zooms. Somebody with such kind of collection? Do you use the F4 zooms much? Do you miss the F2.8?

My perfect lens lineup would probably be:

- Canon 14-24F2.8L (not out yet)
- Canon 35F1.4L
- Canon 85F1.2LII
- Canon 70-200F2.8LII

But I can't afford it within a couple of years. So I am thinking of selling my 24-70 to get:

- Canon 17-40F4L
- Canon 35F1.4L
- Canon 50F1.8II
- Canon 85F1.2LII
- Canon 70-200F4L

I think this would be a pretty nice lens lineup which will cover a lot.
I use the fast primes mostly because I love the DOF. But for holidays in bright sun and some kind of trips the F4 zooms will be perfect I think.

I do like the 24-70L so I don't know If I would like to sell it. It does the job very well. But I don't use it that much on F2.8. It's a bit soft at F2.8 when I am comparing it to a prime. I want 77mm. filter sizes or less because of my LEE system.

I am not bying lenses very soon right now, but I am just thinking about the future.

What do you think about F4 zooms with the best primes?

Fast lenses have a different purpose than slow f/4 lenses. The 2.8 is sort of a compromise between these two. So, IMHO it makes sense to own fast primes in combination with f/4 zooms. Or just 2.8 zooms.

This is my configuration : 35L-85LII-135L + 17-40-24-105+70-200/4IS.

I've never been able to choose between primes and zooms. I don't really use them for same things. On one hand you have thin dof, quality and compact gear and on the other hand you have IS zooms (except 17-40L wich I would love it have IS).

Sometimes I dream about 2.8 zooms, just for convenience, and sometimes I dream about completing my primes setup for quality. But I often find 2.8 is not enough when you need thin dof or you are in low light configuration. With f4 zooms + primes you have both of 2 worlds : Relatively thin dof with f4 + IS and short dof with primes. I allready find all of those lens very redundant.

50 /1.8 is not an L-Prime!!!
If price of 50L is to high get either the Sigma 50/1.4 or the Cannon 50/1.4
I would either keep the 24-70 or trade it in for a 24-105/4.0 and a short Prime
