Just gone FF and finding my feet. I have what seems the normal 24-70 f2.8 and 70-200 f2.8 (and 2x converter) . I expect I will use these most, but I want to have a couple more options and am thinking of getting these two:

Samyang 14mm f2.8
Sigma 50mm F1.4 EX DG HSM

On a crop I liked my canon 10-22mm but I think I mostly used it wide so I figure a prime lens would be better.

I had the sigma 30mm f/1.4. Not so sure how much I would use a wide 50mm.

Sound sensible to you or do you have any suggestions?

I just got the Sigma 50mm and I love it for shots with a bigger field of view. With it, I can hold my flash in one hand and the camera in the other for some great off-camera lighting. I find it harder to do that with the 24-70 and much harder with the 70-200.

But as usual, it depends on what you are photographing. Is it people? Still life? Architecture and/or landscape? Sports?

I like to experiment with all kinds of photo. In practice faces are the usual subjects. I also hold my flash in one hand, but I know what you mean about the weight of the big zooms.

Is the Samyang 14mm f2.8 better (quality image) than the UWA zooms available?

Do you tend to use UWA at the wide end, so not much point in the zoom function?

Forget these wide angles and get serious with tele lenses.;)

I realize it is a bit boring to ask what lens should I get next and is mainly a matter of personal taste, but I had hoped to get a few genuine opinions (not that I mind the funnies!).

I have the same question - Having switched to FF I'm looking for a cost-effective UWA solution.

17-40L
20 f/2.8
Samyang 14
Voigtlander 20

Or maybe the Tokina 16-28 f/2.8? That is more $$ than I want to spend, however.

Currently I'm using the Sigma 8-16 at 16mm and it works fairly well.

Still looking at my options, Samyang 14mm f2.8 still my current thinking - would you go for this? Or recommend a different prime or zoom? I'd appreciate some more thoughts and experiences of FF UWAs!
