Lightning Triggers

I have been looking all over the internet for a good lightning trigger; anyone here have one? Do you like it? I'm kinda liking the looks of this one from AEO:

I use Bowens Pulsar.
There are a ton out there from el cheapo to delux PW.
The Pulsar is in between and works well.

This one is around a hundred bucks more ($237), but it has the manual sensitivity control:

If you have electronics knowledge or at least can follow a schematic you can use an Arduino and build your own for next to nothing. That is what I did, I can send you my schematic if I remember and if I can find it, heh.

What part did you use for the sensor? I already have a circuit here for sound that dad built; there's a chance we might just need a sensor to plug in.

It works very well, I set the camera to high speed shutter, manual focus, and spend a couple minutes adjusting the sensitivity (UV light will also trigger it). I just used a photo transistor mounted inside a Bic pen tube, so I can slide it out for wider area of view or in deeper for narrower view to trigger the camera.
