So, was that a requirement for re-instatement? Buy more gear?

Welcome back

Picture #1 runs contrary to most of the criteria that I normally think of when judging a picture. However, I think I see what you're getting at there. Everything is rather cock-eyed (going off at strange angles), and that which you would normally think of as "in the way" is the only thing in focus. Converging verticals add to the craziness. I guess that's what is appealing about it - truly off-beat, but interesting.

I guess the fact that a considerable portion of the highlights are blown out is only in keeping with the composition. Other than that, it has a nice range of tonality.
Glad you kept the frame simple - Hi!

I actually like #1 and don't see anything wrong with it. I think the angles and perfect DOF add to the picture. And the DOF selection is very creative... if it was the other way around, the picture wouldn't have worked.

Funny, the only picture I've seen posted by you was First Snow in Dahlgren where a considerable part of the image was blown out and the trees were on weird angles. I guess rules are made to be broken eh?

Anyway, I like the first shot.

Sometimes I look at a photo and don't see the composition. This is one of these times, but that may be a good thing because I keep going back to look at what it was you were trying to capture.. sari.

You forgot to mention that First Snow in Dahlgren had a serious blue cast.
