Was wondering if some of you guys could share your opinion and knowledge regarding the pictures I regard my best from my first photowalk with my 100L. Took just this badboy out and tried to make everything work. I'm especially interested in your thoughts on the PP on #1.

Please tear me apart. I've begun to see an incredible increase in my skills, and my head is starting to get too large. Please, PLEASE! Put me in my place. PP, Composition, subject matter, everything!

#1 whites are blown
#2 too dark and cropped poorly
#3 d.o.f. issue but I like the image
#4 over saturated
#5 I would throw it in the trash...not very interesting and poorly shot...
#6 over saturated cropped too tight

So if God made Man & Woman....whats his excuse for Nikon...

The purely white background of #1 does not offer sufficient contrast to some of the elements you want to show.
In #2 the one cheek of the gnome is cut off. it would be better balanced if that had been complete. The bottom half of the shot is too dark.
#3 is decorative but not really very interesting.
#4 is not very well exposed because of the high dynamic range of the shot - dark en very light - even blown - sections in the flower truss. Bokeh is nice.
#5: not sure what I am looking at.
#6 I like the look and composition but am not sure if it would be better whem you crop it a little wider (especially to the right with the things in the bowl. IMHO the strong saturation makes the image better (but don't overdo it).

Phew. You are asking a lot when putting 6 images up for commenting. :)

B&W for #3 would be such a nice picture, the images from a prime L lens is amazingly sharp

I like #3, it already has a bit of monotone to it, but I think a split tone or B&W conversion would work just as well.

I agree that #5 doesn't have a lot going for it, I can't really see a focus for what I'm supposed to be looking at.

I like the style of #6, but not the composition. The focus is on the planter at the right, which is fine, but it's cut off and the left-side edge appears a bit blown out. If the whole thing were shifted to the left and the highlights exposed a bit better I think the image would come out very nice.
