I am having a hard time with the 61point autofocus. If I am not photographing a moving subject why do I need to use it? What should I use for landscape pictures?

With a landscape it's probably not needed at all since you can manual focus. In fact, if you're doing non-moving subjects as your primary subjects, you probably would be served just as well by a 5D2 and have that extra money in your pocket or spent on another lens... 5d3,17-40,24-105,24 1.4,85 1.4,70-200 2.8 is ii

Do you want to suggest to him that he sell it- take a loss, and then get a 5D II ? Otherwise, why even bring it up ?
