Hi guys,

I currently shoot a Nikon D5100 with a Nikkor 35mmF1.8 and a Tamron SP 70-300mm.

I have been looking to upgrade to FF, but I am split between the D700 with a 24-120mmF4 and a 5D Mark II with a 24-105mmF4.

I will be keeping my D5100, but I'm not too bothered having different brands due to the D5100 controls are so different to the rest of the Nikon range, I also don't mind about the lens side because the 35mm is a DX only lens and the Tamron whilst is great on a crop I doubt is much cop on a FF.

Lens wise I will automatically get both 50mm and 85mm lenses and obviously I would have the 24-105mm, which is wide enough for me, but I love a bit of reach, the 70-200mmF4 non-IS looks like a golden, but I would only be gaining 95mm, what are most peoples combos, outside a 70-200mmF2.8 with TCs?

I switched from Nikon to Canon back in 2003 when Nikon did not have VR yet. Now, in 2012 however everyone has image stabilization, Nikon calls theirs VR. You could save a ton of money by staying with Nikon and spending your money on Nikon pro level glass.

Like to see you shoot all Canon but...

the 5D Mark II is a good deal at $1,407 if you buy thru the CLP program but I would get other lens
