Hi
Thanks for any help in advance.

A local concert venue is looking to hire a photographer & is asking for a resume & links to samples.

My real job is Lenticular Art Production & Pre Press & I have been doing concert photography as a hobby for a few years. I'd really appreciate any help putting a resume together, picking some samples to send & any additional advice.

In addition to my Pre Press & Lenticular background I used to do some Photography, Video Editing, Merch Design & other various duties for the band The Donnas including helping with their fan club & occasionally assisting their tour managers with fan related interaction like meet & greets ect.

How do I put this stuff into a resume?
How many shots should I send?
Here is some of what I think are my better shots.

Thanks again for ny help.

You could create a promo piece 8.5x11 glossy full color one side with a montage of your images and caption "Dave Burke - Photographer", on reverse list of concerts you've shot & year, a (short) summary of skills that you have that are relevant to the job, and contact info. Provide a slick presentation that generates sufficient interest to get you in for an interview.

You have some good shots here but I do have a question about the request for information. Are they using the word resume which is a somewhat different kettle of fish from providing a portfolio. There is a ton of information online on putting resume's together with no shortage of templates for virtually every program out there. When I first started to pedal myself to advertising agencies I learned a hard lesson because I had around 50 images, give or take in the online portfolio that I had made. Most of the ones that I have seen or spoken with say to keep it to about 15 max and give them a flavor of your capabilities. You can put an image in the online gallery that gives your personal stats much like you would in a printed resume.

I personally don't like scrolling through a ton of pictures on here unless there is a good reason (forum rules allow for 8 per thread). I would much rather the user link me to your gallery so that we can see what your potential customer would see, even if it has more images. What is their process for selecting the photographer, is it totally off of the online gallery or do you get a face to face where you can show them a printed portfolio and really give them the sales job you want. It is hard to show emotion in a gallery or resume. I would always hire people that showed some enthusiasm for the job.

My life is like one big RAW file....way too much post processing needed.

Thanks for the responses so far.

I really don't know what they are looking for. I'm on the venues email list as I see show's there & received an email this morning that they are looking to hire all sorts of positions from security to part time box office to accounting to various creative positions.
Here is the description of the job posting...
"Photographer
Seeking a music-loving photographer to take concert photos on show nights. You must have your own equipment, but will have a first-class view of the concert! (This is a paid position.) Please send resume with a link to samples of your work and the subject line “Photographer” "

Since I haven't had to make a resume in over 20 years I figured I'd ask for some input from people who are actually in the field.

I'm not really looking to leave my current job as I doubt this photographer position can compare in salary & stability. I'm hoping to just put together something that perhaps will get some consideration, possibly as even a freelance or part time position.

Of the shots I have posted are there any stand outs that should be put in a gallery for submission.

Thanks in advance.
