@Okiewan - my point is your mileage may vary. I had just gotten the setup- and was playing with it for a day or two. It was all working fine- then all of a sudden- I went to playback- and the last several pics- gone. No parts of a picture- no squigglies, no nothing- just gone.. I wish eye-fi would come out with their own complete solution- rather than having us piece it together.

+1 on that or maybe even Canon could collaberate with Eye-Fi "will you do this for us / inconjunction with us and Sandisk". Then make a supported adapter card and say 1 eye-fi card!
That would be far more attractive than some of the features in the proposed upgrade [don't get me wrong, I am well grateful for anything in a free upgrade] but this would be a real poke in teh eye for Nikon!

If you would like to know Eye-Fi's stance on the entire CF thing, they are quite active in their own support forums and have gone through this quite a bit there.

Thanks Teamspeed but I mailed them they are a very focused (narrow minded) bunch . No interest in CF cards as they say 'the majority of Cameras now use SD cards'.
I think one is on ones own unless Canon or Sandisk steps up - probably with some cash too!
I've ordered the card that supports UMDA and am just checking that if one has this type of card one is not restricted to the older eye fi cards. Some say you are but others say with this card it works on some Cameras especially the 7D seems more receptive.
Just stlalling as I might have to buy another Bowens to solve a flash triggering issue.

Businesses developing a product will go where the margins are. Obviously the consumer camera market, that uses sd cards, is much bigger than the cf market.

Yeah but will they invest in this kind of accessory. My thinking is if you'll spend £4000 on a camera and lenses and a speedlite. You'd go for £100 card in a flash. But if you spent £200 on a point and shoot would you dive out and spend £75 on an eye-fi card. When your image only justifys a quick download and view job?
