The compact camera market is starting to get very interesting this year. Sony makes awesome Nex bodies, but they're asleep at the shell with their lens line-up. They've made up for it with the RX100, which by every account is a brilliant camera, the one thing holding me back is the lack of a hot-shoe. The Olympus OM-D E-M5 is the M43 camera that brought pro-level image quality to the system and the lens lineup is the best there is. Fuji's X1-Pro body is a little pricey and has weak auto focus, but the images are stellar and I am such a sucker for fast primes (which are fairly cheap).

The I saw the DigitalRev TV comparison of the T4i and the 60D today, and it may have sold me on a touch screen interface. Changing settings on the screen seemed quick and responsive. The only thing I think is missing now is an EVF, which may be necessary for using my heavier EF lenses. Being able to both get a crop-sensor Canon camera that is small and light, but capable of using EF lenses when I want it to is looking good.......Decisions, decisions....

T3i / Tokina 11-16 2.8 / Tamron 17-50 2.8 / Sony Nex-5 / 40mm f/2.8 Pancake / 50mm 1.8 II /100mm f/2.0 / 580 EX II, 2x430 EX II's

Who said anything about replacing DSLRs?

+1. I have my T4i and NEX-7 to play with. For travel, I'll take my NEX-7, 24/1.5 and 55-210. For macro. I'll use my T4i and 100/2.8. For sports, my T4i, 50/1.4 and 135/2.0L. And for bring the best you've got when anything can happen, my NEX-7, 24/1.8. 50/1.8 and T4i and 70-200/4L IS.

Happy shooting.

Too much stuff, not enough shooting time.

Canon T4i (2 lenses), Fuji X100s, Olympus OM-D EM-1 (3 lenses)

Canon is taking the challenge of the iPhone seriously.
I wonder if there will be a version with WiFi and a browser and Angry Birds installed.

He certainly polarises opinion! You have to know what to take and what to leave when it comes to his site. Some of his stuff is great, his UWA "tutorial" is spot on (in my eyes anyway!) JPEG only shooting....not sure I can agree on that....
