Well, maybe not my first attemt, but the first im happy with.
Like the dramatic effect I got.

I have a Canon G12, no filters used here.

I used bracket setup, but did no other settings besides setting the camera to the brackets.

I have read some write that use +-2 but not quite sure what that means.
Is that the wheel all to the left? hehe.

Anyway, if you have any tips for improvements here, then I appriciate it.

I used photomatrix to assemble the image.

For your first HDR shot you did well :) HDR's taken on a tripod are a lot better than hand held, as photomatrix doesn't have to align the shots as much resulting in a sharper picture. I can see on the left those trees look a bit soft? Was it hand held or just windy? Also unless you want it there for record keeping, the date stamp makes it look a little...cheap. Overall i would be happy if mine turned out like yours the first go :D

The +-2 is the EV step used to compile the HDR shot togather. The first photo out of the 3 might be taken at -2 on your meter creating your "darker" underexposed shot, the 2nd of the 3 will be at 0 EV which is considered a properly exposed shot and the 3rd shot will be at +2 EV which will be your "brighter" shot. When first starting out with HDR's +-2 EV is the best to use, when you get the hang of it a little more you can set the camera to take shots at -2 -1 0 +1 +2 EV which will result in a stack of 5 images or even use 7 images!

If you compare your assembled image to the best image of the three bracketed images you will get an idea of the effect of your hdr.

I use a Canon 7D and a 5D2 for my HDR set to AEB +2, 0, -2 (and make further exposures in ACR if required). I just sold my Canon G12. I needed to take a HDR photo on a train station where photography is not allowed (attached it to my pram frame with a gorillapod). I set it to AEB and it is very restrictive. It brackets at +1, 0 and -1. Just bear that in mind. Its the reason I sold mine after I won an Olympus PEN EP3

Sure you can. You can do 3 exposures, up to +/- 2 EV in 1/3 EV increments. Much of the time +/- 1 EV is enough though.

Can you tell me how?
I can't figure it out?
Is it the left wheel?
