You start by masking off foreground, subject and backgrounds in different layers. Then fill or paint in the areas that were masked off in the backgrounds. Take the layered psd file into After Effects and make the layers 3D models. You can then pull or push each layer into different depths using the camera tool so as you pan, tilt and rotate the image, you see the 3D effect. It's pretty simple, just time consuming. ;)

I'll be there next month. Having just got my 5Dii, i was wondering what you would suggest for starting settings for night shots. So much of the beauty of Vegas is at night. I want to try to prepare as best I can.

make sure you have a nice sturdy tripod.... and shutter release cable and shoot in AV mode with your ISO set to 100 ... start at f4 and work your way up ...
