I've been toying with the idea of upgrading to 5DIII, however its a bit out of reach money wise, I keep coming back to this thread after seeing the mark three thread and see little difference, I know that online is not the best way to view the differences. I just cant get past just how beautiful the images can be from my 5DII and I'm not keen to sell it for the upgrade (which Id have to do) I keep wondering if I will regret selling it....probably being silly and I wonder if anyone else feels this way. In any case, there are some stunning images in this thread

To me, making that decision will be based on the fact that if I make money out of photography and I cannot afford missing shots, I would go for mark III. But that's not the case for me. Photography is a (n expensive) hobby for now.

I do make money from my shots although not enough to warrant spending up big at the moment. however to be honest between the 1DIII and 5DII I cant really say I miss much, I think its more about the mythical perfect for anything camera that I search for. 5DIII seems the closet to it but I don't want to give up what I have In any case right now money is not falling out of my pockets so I will stick with what i have.

The problem with comparing the threads is that people only share the best of what they take, so you dont see the bad shots in either threads. I think the biggest improvement in 5DIII isnt so much in image quality (although there certainly is some) its more in the sorts of things that help get the image ISO performance, focusing system, and improved frame rate. Once you actually get the shot and compare them after being downsized to the web, the difference is little or none.
