Another thing I love about magic lantern is auto zoom. Once you take a shot and want to check focus you press the button as normal to display the photo on the LCD but then all you need to do is push the zoom in button once and it zooms to 100%, push it once more and it zooms back out. Sounds like nothing but I would hate not to have it now

That bracketing feature seems pretty slick. I might check that out. I was referring to the 14 stop dynamic range update, looks awesome ; )

Ok, I need your HELP PLEASE;

This is really annoying me now, mostly every shot with my newly acquired EOS 5D Mk2 body is SOFT, I shot this image below on a tripod, 50 iso, mirror lock-up, used a recently repaired EF 24-105mm f/4 L which was repaired at Canon UK, a fit bill of health etc. My other Canon lenses EF 50mm f/1.8 MkII and EF 17-40mm f/4 L are the same, soft.

This was shot at f/6.3 at 105mm length. This image is straight out of the camera with nothing done to it whatsoever. I used a cable release and manual focus, whenever I got the 5D/2 body about two weeks ago I did the eyepiece dioptre adjustment etc.
My last EOS 5D Mk1 body which I owned for 18 months was 'pin-sharp' focus compared to this 5D Mk2 body!!!!

What's going on......?????

Do you have any other shots so we can check if it's back focusing? I can't tell from this one. It might need microadjustment but it could be a problem with the body .. Please provide us with more samples so we can have a better idea.

One more from me

Help before I sell my 5D Mk2 body.

I added a little sharpening with PS and used a high pass overlay to bring some of the detail back into the shot, it has brought a fair bit of centre sharpness back but does still seem soft around the edges. Try with other lenses nice with a closed in AV.
I would say drop the AV and use the 17-40mm , try center point AF.
EF 50mm f/1.8 MkII is a lens known to have a hit or miss AF system and as you have probably found the 5Dii does not have an excellent AF ability.

Start with f9 and go from there, 6.3 is still relatively wide .

I have found since getting the 5Dii it does have some issues, pictures aren't mega sharp straight from the camera, takes some PP sharpening to bring out the beauty. Dont think shooting in RAW would help this issue, but its the best way to shoot.
