On L ISO with Nifty Fifty Mark One.

Kai W newest camera is ... 5D MKII... He raves about it in one of his latest videos. And drops it (on the grass) in the video about crappy camera bag which costs more than 5D MK II...

So, these cameras are cheap now. But seems to be still popular. It could be cheap on lenses too. I have first version of nifty fifty EF, it is very well made, metal mount and even lens pouch is same as for L lenses. It was less expensive than current one.

Another, cheap lens I have is small and light EF 22–55mm f/4–5.6 USM. It has heavy vignetting @22mm at far corners, which is correctable. I'm finding this lens to be much easier to handle comparing to 24-105 L. It barely extends at any focal length.

I know longer own a 5D2, but shot one for years and enjoyed it immensely. Some of my best photography was with it in hand. I do have a lot of old images however, and I ran across this one the other day. I took it well before sunrise, at a highish ISO (2000) and a long exposure time (30 sec.). For those that shoot in that neighborhood you already know it is a recipe for noise. I decided to run this image through DXO's Deep Prime Lightroom plugin, and wow what a difference it made! I thought I would share the results for those that may be in a similar situation...it works!

I actually think there's a benefit to older/slower cameras with "bad autofocus" - they force everyone to take a "time out" slow down - think about what they're doing and why... That can make a big difference between average work and amazing work!!
