Maybe there should be a common thread we all could post our Christmas card pictures in.

Anyway, here's mine:

Take with my 20D, the 85mm, f/1.8 - 1/20sec @ f/5.6, iso 400, 1-B800 w/umbrella and a small reflector... soft focus is Photoshop and ran through NeatImage.

Comments on how I could improve this are greatly appreciated! Thanks for having a look.

I vote we make this the common thread.

I tried a quick n nasty lens test today with the 50mm f1.4 I got this week. It does come up sharp.
I went handheld so it meant 800iso. So my end product, using natural light, no reflector, no fill flash, rushed thru RSE and PP without too much WB care (all up 20minutes!), is pathetic next to your skilled and classy result. But its just a start:

Carzee - Looks like you have an Elf living with you. Nice shots. I know I love my f1.8 and can easily see the difference between it and yours. Nice stuff.

Gotcha - its Elves. In the gallery are both James and Steven. They're a blessing and named after the first 2 martyrs in the NT.

you are correct sir! I didn't notice it at first, but prints came in today and I saw it on the print...looking again at the monitor it's there...I don't know why I didn't catch it. I think I overdid saturation. Good catch...thanks!

Thanks Dante! I probably overdid the soft effect a little.

Carazee...I like your shots! Particularly the second...very nice!

And Marie...thanks for the link! (I wonder if this whole thread could be moved?...probably not.)
