A few Roller Derby Shots

I shot a Roller Derby Scrimmage last night. I noticed that if I let the batteries in my Phottix Odin controller run low that I seem to be getting some ghosting in a few of the images due to the flash not all firing in sync with each other. Oh well, lesson learned.

very good shots, i don't see any ghosting in these

ive watched it on tv and theres 'new' RD going on locally but i STILL dont get how they score...

good looking shots. im kind of surprised there wasnt an uproar about using flash...

Most of the derby photogs use flash. These places are real caves. I never use flash for combat sports, but other than that most don't mind at all.

As for scoring, they get 1 point for every person on the other team that they pass. The point it to score points and "Call off the Jam(race)" before the other team can score. There are many other rules, but that is the gist.
