Hey everyone. I went and visited my grandma today and took a few pics while I was there. She talked on and on about how her children don't ever take the time to visit her and they're too busy for her. I was inspired. I looked for a poem to go with the picture, but had no luck, so I decided to write my own. It also reminded me how I took my best pictures. . . from the heart. I want you all to tell me what ya think, honestly.

what a moving poem, i'm almost at a loss for words as it is so sad. my grandma lives quite far away and im constantly upset how she seems to be forgotten. she has done so much for so many yet no one seems to have time for her.
I can't even imagine how much your visit meant to her.

I suggest it is what your Grandmother thinks which really counts.

Thank you both for your comments. Should I print it, frame it, then give it to her? Just kidding. I kinda want to send it to each of her kids, including my dad. I know her whinning gets old, but crap, every once in a while isn't too hard to stand. It's sad to see that happen and that's what inspired me to write it. While I imagined what she must feel as I wrote it, she actually feels that pain each day. I'd love to hear some more feedback too. Not just about the poem, but the photo as well. I actually took the photo without even planning on using it for that.

Here's a few more I took of her.

That it so heart touching And so true, You did an excellent job on the pic's and poem. I'm sure you family would love to have it framed. My Grandmother was my heart she has pass on now but I think of her daily.
I'm sure you grandmother loves you dearly from the look in her eyes in the photos. Again very touching poem you wrote there. Brought tears to my eyes as I was reading.

I love grannies! Your photos are fabulous and the poem is very sad. Sadly that I have no grandparents left, and my own mother passed when I was just out of high school. If people only knew how to cherish the joy, the friendship, the loving, and the eternity of caring for someone that one day will be gone. Thanks for reminding us all to take a moment to shine our "old gems" and keep them sparking until they sadly depart.

I am thankful that I get to see my parents almost daily. They get to see my daughter almost daily too.

WHAT HAPPENS WHEN GRANDMA LEARNS TO E-MAIL (R rated)

Dear Kids,

I am very happy in the new residence you have put me in. This week we actually got to go outside for an hour.

I haven't been feeling very good this week - the friend I shared a room with died yesterday. I am coping pretty well with my sorrows. It's been six months since you've visited me last, I guess you're all pretty busy. It's OK, I've learned to use the Internet to pass the time. And the computer in the rec room has a pretty decent web cam.

So you can remember what I look like, I have attached a recent picture of myself. You all take care, and write to me soon.

With all of my heart.

Love, Grandma

Nice poem and picture, you should it to all her kids and grand kids. My grandma was in the hospital, suffered a stroke and have small strokes ocassionally. She has 4 grandkids that has not ONCE been to visit her while she was in the hospital. I call her everyday, just to say I am calling and that I love you. She told my aunt and mom, I get on her nerves. So one day I didnt call, wouldnt u know it, she said I forgot about her and didnt love her...lol. I love my granny she is too funny.
