Er, that's not all it does. It also increases flare and decreases contrast.

have ordered two cpl from marumi super dhg, 77mm and a 105mm. it did score the same as an b&w cpl.

b&w, marumi or hoya hd is what i would have chosen.

Just be sure it's multi-coated and high quality glass... All manufacturers make cheaper versions, too.

I've heard really good things about Marumi but haven't used them.

Most of what I use are B+W Pro MRC.... Or in C-Pols specifically, Kaesemann.

Hoya, Heliopan, Rodenstock, Kenko, even Tiffen all make good, high end filters. You just have to look for them and be careful.

The only problem i have, is the lack of good( and current) reviews/comparisons. The much-linked Lenstip review is a few years old now.. there are newer CPLs out, and who's to say that some mfgr's haven't changed their processes(for better or worse) after this review? :confused:
