The reason I ask is that I have access to a CNC milling machine, and since I am saving for the 70-200 and I want to get it ASAP I could make a ring that would fit the barrel to save about 100+ dollars. Any help you can give would be greatly appreciated. Thanks tons ahead of time,

It also gets used when using my TC some times. In really good light it is not needed but cand sure help if you have shaky hands. -JIM-

You'll get some of your $ back if you ever sell the lens w/collar. Try to make your own and it'll look "funny" and you run the risk of damage to the lens if you tighten it too much. GEAR LIST
