LordV Macro Photo-Lord of the Year 2006  More info | Dec 17, 2005 01:28 | #1 First shot of the moon I've done. Taken with my 300D+ canon 200mm F2.8L and Kenko pro 1.4X extender. Taken in manual 1/250th F6.3 ISO400, manual focus, handheld. I did actually focus stack 2 shots for this but not sure it made any difference. I would have thought that the moon would have been fully in focus at infinity whatever? Stacking is use for more Deepsky objects. To get a longer exosure time. Evan with tracking equipment it with still wonder. So what we do it take alot of shorter exposured images then stack them together. To get a brighter image. If you go to http://www.NJNIGHTSKY.com  and look in the gallery youll see a bunch so images that have been stacked. You'll see something like 8x15 stacked which is equal to a 2 min exposure.Thanks for the info. I've never tried any astro photography but seeing some of the images it is tempting ot have a go.......
