I just bought a boxed 70-300 IS USM lens of a guy cheap for £70, and he also had a 28-135 IS USM he had that he was looking at selling as well.

He didn`t have a price in mind, so was wondering what sort of price these normaly go for in the UK second hand.

this lens is not boxed, no hood and missing end cap. :(

cheers

I don't know about there in the UK, but here in the US a 28-135 is pretty common on the used market. I paid $250 for one a couple years ago... including shipping, like new (no box, it was in a kit and came in the original Styrofoam packaging), with both caps, the OEM accessory lens hood and a B+W MRC Pro UV filter. I've seen them for as low as $200 locally on Craigslist. It's a good value at those prices.... a far more capable lens than people give it credit to be. New a 28-135 sells separately for around $450 here in the US.... The hood sells for another $25 (clones are cheaper) and the filter on mine sold for about $65 last time I checked. In kit with various cameras, usually the 28-135mm adds $200.
