As was suggested to me in another thread, I'm posting this to get an outside eye on the pictures I shoot. Not shot-by-shot detailed critiques, but rather any faults shared across multiple pictures that jump to you. Too much sharpening, too much saturation, uninteresting angles, too many distracting elements, too much reliance on the rule of thirds, and so on. Things I'm too close and too used to to see clearly by myself.

I'll link below to four galleries of mine, which I feel are representative of my work (if I can call it that). Each contains a lot of pictures, way too many to be called a portfolio. Again, I'm not looking for detailed critique: just the stuff that strikes you flipping through them.

I really appreciate the time any one would spend to help.

Well that's easy - they're all too focused, well-exposed, well-composed, and well-processed.
Loosen up!

This made me laugh!

You tend to shoot "things" exceptionally well.

You're street work is amazing for both living and inorganic subject matter. Portraits are perfect and you capture people in the moment very well.

Honestly, in the Guadelupe section the wedding photos are not doing a whole lot for me. They look like they've been shot by another photographer.

I would say you need to get a book together and get some folks to do a professional review (art directors). I think you're at that level.

Amazing.

I'm really feeling your Indonesia set. Very strong images, great colors and interesting compositions. black and white tones are spot on. It looks like your style has really been developing these last 6 months or so. Great work

You've done a good job throwing away the crap and only saving the 'good stuff!'

Very nice work.

Please post some pictures for critique.

I'm not going to sift through hundreds of photos.

The portrait shots in the Indonesia section are fantastic. The Tigers in Asia area are amazing. Most all of them are great. Great work!

Amazing work. I feel like I've just been through a photography clinic.

I'll agree that the weakest shots are the wedding photos. Everything else is 10+!

Thanks for sharing.

Wow... Just... Wow! Really not much else I could say. They only nit, and it's a tiny one, is in the first tiger picture, there is a little bit of the fence showing. I'd try and get rid of it. The other tiger pics don't look like he's in a confined/protected space.

I hope to some day be half as good of a photographer as what I just saw.

Thanks everyone for the kind words. I wasn't expecting that response, to be honest! I hope nobody held back out of politeness or something :).

Qbx, I'm not sure what you mean (unless you were just yanking my chain :p). Loosen up? In what way?

The wedding was a friend's, and the first one I shot (and, to date, the only one). There were a bunch of us snapping away so no pressure, but I did feel out of my depth. There are a couple shots I'm really happy with, but mostly I wasn't feeling it. I guess I need more practice, but to be honest I don't really thing weddings are my thing.
