I think that a valuable addition to this thread would be some tips regarding where to sell various body parts in order to afford this lens....

Olympics gear room looks like maybe? I would like to stumble into that room with a duffel bag.

I'll stick with my 120-300 and 1.4. It a far cheaper combo.

Per his article I woul hope it is *#%#% amazing for the guesstimate of 11k. :). Now that would be buyers remorse.

I think the success of this lens will depend on the ability of it to take an additional TC well. If so, then the range of that lens is perfect for just about everything.

That story was from Februray 2011. Thinking they will price this lens with a built in extender for less than the Nikon, is extremely extremely unlikely. I mean I would put my preorder in day one if they did, but I am not getting my hopes up.

I'm here too. $7k would be a strong possibility, but $11k would be way outside the box for me. With Canon're recent lens pricing trend, I'm thinking it will be in the 5 figure range, I'd be shocked if it's under $9,000, and consider a price under $7,000 an impossibility. But until they announce it, we can all dream, can't we?
