good news, finally got my code....about to download mountain lion.

bad news, my external hdd i use for all my movies and music is definitely on the fritz. think i'm done with western digital....although this bad boy HAS been through the ringer with me to include 2 deployments to some pretty harsh conditions so I can't complain too much I suppose.

You probably could use an external drive, such as a 3TB USB 3 one, for your data fines. And then get a 3TB Time Capsule to backup the entire system. You can get a 3TB USB 3 drive at Costco for $139. You may be able to get lower prices for the drive and Time Capsule via PX or other DoD discount.

Hey guys, quick question.

I have Lion and was wondering if I upgraded to ML, if I'd have to re-enter the license codes for LR4 and CS5? Only reason I'm asking is because I'm going to be getting a new MBP soon and don't want to have to buy a new license just for upgrading the OS.

Thanks,

Mike

Shouldn't have to if you are doing the upgrade. If you are doing a clean install you will have to reinstall the programs, and enter the codes.

Um... Hi

Has anyone noticed? >>>
If you open a folder which contains RAW and JPEG files, you can't sort them
by type. Mountain Lion doesn't recognize RAW and JPEG files as different file types anymore.

Whut? What does it say by "Kind" then? "Image" or so?

Guess sorting by Filesize is kind of an option, but it's silly…

I have been running it since yesterday on my rMBP. I did not have any problems it was suppose to fix. I I have not seen any new problems introduced.

Same here on both counts. Jury is still out on whether or not it improved battery life...

Does anybody know how you can set ML to sign straight back into your desktop after wake up from sleep. Each time I'm brought to the login page where I enter my password - can't figure out how to avoid it

If it's anything like previous versions: System prefs > Security > General > "Require password … after sleep or screensaver begins"
