I saw this tree when we were at the Grand Canyon the other day and I thought it looked cool. Once I saw the picture on my computer, I thought it would look very dramatic as a B/W photo. It's one of my favorites from the trip.

Very nice, I would personally like it more if the tree on the left was cloned out or it extended higher into the corner but I do really like the black and white treatment.

Which do you prefer? At first I felt like the leaving those limbs helped balance the photo, but they were also a little distracting. I'm not sure which I like best.

In a perfect world I would like the tree limb come up to the top corner but I see why you left it, it does seem to help balance it out, just wish it went up higher. But looking at them both I prefer your original

Yeah, I think I still prefer the original too.

I like the do-over. My eyes are drawn to the very dark of the branches on the left.

The redone version is a lot more simple and definitely draws more attention to the figure of the tree, gnarled trees in b/w always look killer. nice shot.

Very nice.
Could you bring out more detail in the clouds?
I think that would make the image complete, no matter what version.(I prefer no limb on left)

Very nice in B&W.

- I discovered I scream the same way whether I'm about to be devoured by a great white shark or if a piece of seaweed touches my foot.

Thanks for all the comments. We're still on vacation, but once we get back home, I might work with it a little more to see what I can get.
