Hello all, I figure there is a thread on just about anything here I think it is time to start one just for WATERFALLS & CASCADES.

Personally, I love water on the move but there is just something special about waterfals/cascades... I hope it takes of.

Peace.

These were done with a piece of welding glass.

1. 30 second exposure.

2. This one is a little over 10 minute exposure. Couldn't believe it came out the way it did...

3. 30 second exposure and I beliege I added a blue color layer over it to make it look more realistic.

I'm working on building a better welding glass filter (Actually glued to a 77mm ring) for these types of shots. I will be able to use a Expodisc on it so that the colors are better and closer to real.

...Thought I had some more there that I took with a regular ND4 filter. I'll have to go through my archives and see if I can find them and repost them.

Looking downriver from the Hwy 81 bridge over the Yellow River in Porterdale, Georgia. The dam is in the lower section of the photo with the large log lodged against it. My dad, brother and I would frog gig and fish just below the shoals when I was a kid in the early '60s.

Got a camera, some cheap glass, one nice glass, a PC which doubles as my darkroom and a lot to learn - and having fun learning.

I especially like the last one, Tom. The white, silky water contrast so well with the dark, bluish rock. The shadow in the background leads the eye straight through the picture.

These were my first attempts at this location. No filters were used. I was just trying to manipulate the settings on the camera to achieve the long exposure I wanted. The f/ stops ranged between f/16 to f/22. I was able to get a couple 1 second and 2 second exposures. Mostly 1/3 and 1/6 exposures is what I got though.

I had just gotten my 5D Mark II and wanted to go out and get some photos of this waterfall for the longest time so I did it this day. This was actually the first time I photographed this location. It had rained a day or so earlier so I figured the falls would be heavily active and they certainly were.

1. One of my personal favorites.

I skipped a couple that I uploaded because they were a bit redundant to the other ones I posted.

I'll play. Heres two: first one from Zion that I bet you haven't seen yet (except from me). Just a little one thats overlooked. Second one, there are actually three separate little falls if you look closely, also from Zion. Enjoy.

Have plenty of Canons, enough ammo, enough to blow 'em to "L". Now, I just have to learn to aim.
