FILTER troubles...

I am thinking of purchasing the 'Tiffen SoftFX' filter for my G2 (I have the adaptor, and they make them at 58mm).

Its a great little filter - takes out small details such as skin blemishes, while leaving clarity for the bigger objects such as eyes.

My question is really to anyone who has used this filter or something similar before: does it disrupt the auto-focus? can the auto-focus even work with a filter such as this, seeing that the filter in effect 'blurs' certain portions of the image.

I know its kind of a shot in the dark with this question because I'm not sure how many people will have used it, but any advice would be much appreciated!

Regards,

TomTom

No experience...

But wouldn't you just be better off "touching" it up in Photoshop if you're trying to remove blemishes, etc?

Just a cheaper suggestion if you already have Photoshop.

I use Corel Photo-paint, and have done what you said in the past.

However, others have said that the results are usually better if the changes are made in production rather than post-production tweaking.

TomTom
